Thessalonika Family Services (TFS) provides quality long-term care and treatment for children who need out-of-home services. The particular needs of these precious children vary. To help meet these needs, we provide services through three distinct programs: Rancho Damacitas Children's Homes, Rancho Jireh Foster Homes, and Project Independence.
More than 27 years ago Rancho Damacitas Children's Home was started here in the Temecula Valley by a loving couple with a big heart for children. They bought one home in Temecula, caring for four girls. Over the years this program has increased to include six homes, caring for 36 children. Also developed over the years were Rancho Jireh Foster Homes, and Project Independence. Collectively these three programs form Thessalonika Family Services, an incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency.
Rancho Jireh Foster Homes is our foster care program and roughly provides loving homes for 40 children. With offices in Temecula and San Diego, we recruit, train, and provide support for families that are interested in opening their home to a child in need. Families selected to serve as Rancho Jireh foster parents receive on-going training, supervision, and financial assistance. Additionally, social work services are provided by qualified Rancho Jireh social workers, equipping the families to meet the unique needs of each child. You can learn more about this great program by clicking on the Rancho Jireh link provided through this site.
The children placed at TFS typically come from the Department of Social Services or Child Protective Services. Children served range in age from six to eighteen at Rancho Damacitas Children's Homes, zero to eighteen at Rancho Jireh Foster Homes, and eighteen and older through Project Independence. TFS is licensed through Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego, and Imperial Counties.
Over 27 years ago TFS was started by a couple in the Temecula Valley who had a heart for children in need. They bought one home in Temecula, caring for 4 girls. Over the years TFS has increased to 6 homes, caring for 36 boys and girls at Rancho Damacitas. The children placed within our agency are typically placed by the Department of Social Services (DPSS) and/or Child Protective Services (CPS). Also during these 27 years, Rancho Jireh was born which is our foster care program and roughly provides loving homes for 40 children. Within the last few years our Transitional Living Program has been implemented, which is designed and funded from private donations to fill in the gap between emancipation and adulthood. We are licensed to care for children ages 6 through 18 in our group home, Rancho Damacitas, ages 0-18 in our foster care program, Rancho Jireh, and 18 years and older in our Transitional Living Program.
