Therapist

At the core of the success our Agency has in treating children from abused and neglected backgrounds is the cornerstone of clinical therapeutic care. To ensure the consistent implementation of clinical strategy, Rancho Damacitas hires paid, fulltime M.F.T. Interns who lead a treatment team of staff that addresses the comprehensive needs of the children we serve.

The M.F.T. Intern will provide weekly group and individual therapy to the children on their case-load as part of a targeted therapeutic response designed to successfully address the affects of trauma and abuse to which the children have been exposed. Likewise, the M.F.T. Intern is responsible for providing guidance, oversight, and direction regarding the individual needs and services plan for each child on their case load. Lastly, the individual hired into this position will provide leadership and mentoring to their assigned group home personnel regarding milieu dynamics and client treatment.

This position provides the candidate a broad base of field-related experience and training as well as the opportunity to accrue and receive free on-site licensed supervision for all B.B.S. hours required of licensure. We provide effective ongoing coaching and support to our M.F.T. Interns. This is provided within a collaborative professional environment that we hope will empower them to find and use their special talents and interpersonal gifts, which, when matched with their clinical skills will bring healing and restoration to the lives of hurting children.

A minimum of a 2 year requirement is requisite of this position due to the pivotal leadership nature and critical therapeutic value resident within the M.F.T. Intern role. The therapist hired into this position must truly be teachable, trainable, and moldable in order to succeed within the structure of our program. Within that context we make the commitment to provide our staff training, modeling, and support to help them succeed in serving the needs of the population we care for. We are strongly committed to having a team-oriented approach in our working with one another as well as with the clients we serve; and, the M.F.T. Intern will need to be embrace supporting such an approach.

Starting Salary: $42,000.00 / year

Educational qualifications: The individual must possess a Master’s Degree in either Counseling Psychology or another social science that will equip them to fulfill the clinical duties required of the position.
